About First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church in Blue Grass is a traditional Baptist congregation with roots dating to 1906. The church is connected with the Southern Baptist Convention, Tennessee Baptist Convention, and Knox County Baptist Association. Its vision is to reach the community and beyond with the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ, and its stated purpose is to glorify God by developing devoted followers of Christ. One part of its early history is the story of Reverend Joseph Sentell selling his horse to help provide money for a church building.
