About Saint Stephens Lutheran Church
Saint Stephen's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is a welcoming Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation founded in 1947 and dedicated to its current building in 1949. As a Reconciling in Christ congregation, Saint Stephen's openly welcomes all people without exception, regardless of age, race, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, financial or family status, physical or mental abilities, or any other distinction. The church is deeply committed to antiracist work, community engagement through food assistance programs and other ministries, and honoring the indigenous Bah-Kho-je, Meskwaki, and Sauk nations whose traditional lands they occupy.
