About Gospel Mission Temple
Gospel Mission Temple is a Full Gospel church located in Davenport, Iowa, founded on June 27, 1984, by Bishop Dr. Jimmie R. Horton and his wife, Evangelist Lady Michelle Horton, in the basement of their home. The congregation has grown significantly over the decades and now encompasses a multiethnic community of African Americans, Caucasians, Asians, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Italians, and many other nationalities. The church operates extensive facilities valued at over ten million dollars, including the Family Life Educational Center dedicated in 2003, which houses a banquet and dining hall, fitness and recreational center, School of Ministries, and the Early Childhood Christian Academy known as Shining Light Learning Center. Gospel Mission Temple maintains a robust array of ministries including youth programs, healing and counseling services, community outreach, music and worship, and discipleship education through the Obadiah and Julia McInnis School of Ministries.
