About Zion Lutheran Church
Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa, has proclaimed Christ for over 160 years as a resilient congregation rooted in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Southeastern Iowa Synod. Located at 1216 West Eighth Street in the West End neighborhood, Zion is committed to front-line ministry, growing in faith to reach out in love through various community initiatives including a food pantry, free meal program, and housing justice work. The congregation welcomes worshippers of all backgrounds, grounded in the belief that love, worthiness, and acceptance are birthrights in Jesus Christ, regardless of personal struggles or mistakes. With an open and trusting spirit, Zion gathers people hungry for God's Word and eager to learn what it means to follow Jesus in a new generation.
