About Church of Damascus Road
The Church of the Damascus Road is a Lutheran congregation of the Western Iowa Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, serving as a Christian community of reconciliation since its founding as a mission startup in 1997. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Paul E. Stone since 1997, the church conducts weekly Holy Communion services and offers prayer teams and Bible study groups at two locations: the North Central Correctional Facility in Rockwell City and the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. The congregation is dedicated to spiritual care within the correctional system and maintains an active reentry reintegration ministry that trains teams to support formerly incarcerated individuals during their transition back into society.
