About United Methodist Church
Gowrie United Methodist Church has been making disciples for the transformation of the world for over 150 years in rural Iowa. Led by Pastor Susan Rohden since 2017, the church offers Sunday School at 9 AM from September through May and year-round worship at 10:15 AM. The congregation engages in spiritual formation through Bible and book study, serves the community through an annual Fourth of July chicken dinner, and reaches out to the poor and marginalized through mission projects. The church building, dedicated in 1952 and expanded in 2002 with a fellowship hall and kitchen, provides space for traditional worship experiences alongside modern ministries. Gowrie UMC is committed to responding to the reconciling love of Jesus Christ by inviting, receiving, and accepting all persons in Christian love.
