About Unitarian Universalist Society
The Unitarian Universalist Society in Iowa City is a welcoming, spiritually diverse congregation that honors individual searches for truth and meaning while fostering community connection. Located on an 8-acre campus featuring nature trails, gardens, and a meditation labyrinth, UUS emphasizes social justice, racial equity, and environmental stewardship as core values. The congregation welcomes people of all beliefs, backgrounds, and identities—including LGBTQ+ individuals—with no formal doctrine required. Beyond Sunday services, UUS offers numerous small groups focused on spiritual growth, secular humanism, earth-centered practices, and shared interests, as well as family-friendly programming with childcare and religious education for all ages.
