Antioch Christian Church in Marion, Iowa has been making, growing, and sending disciples of Jesus Christ since 1974, when it first met on the Coe College campus. The church has expanded significantly over the decades, moving to its own building in 1981 and experiencing major growth in the 2000s with new facilities and additional campuses in Oelwein and Cedar Rapids. Antioch operates from a biblical worldview, emphasizing that the Bible is relevant to modern life and that life is better lived together in authentic community. The church is part of the independent Christian Churches movement, which gives it autonomy to govern itself and grow as God leads. Today, Antioch serves multiple locations with a mission centered on loving God, loving people, and making disciples through worship, small groups, children's ministries, and local and global outreach.
