About Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church
Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Moorland, Iowa, serves the Catholic community of Belle Plaine with a rich heritage spanning over 150 years. The parish was formed through the consolidation of two historic churches—the Irish-founded Sacred Heart and the German St. Peter and Paul—reuniting the community that had originally split in 1868. Today, the welcoming congregation gathers for regular weekend masses, participates in liturgical celebrations throughout the liturgical year, and maintains traditions of eucharistic adoration and reconciliation.
