About St James Episcopal Church
St. James Episcopal Church has served the Alexandria and Central Louisiana region as a worshipping and community presence since 1844. The church welcomes all people regardless of background, faith history, or life circumstances, emphasizing that visitors will not be singled out or judged. As part of The Episcopal Church, St. James gathers for worship using the Book of Common Prayer and Episcopal Hymnal 1982, celebrating God's love through praise, sacraments, service, and community. The church offers multiple weekly services including Holy Eucharist on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with additional Evening Prayer and Wednesday healing services, alongside Christian education, fellowship, and outreach ministries.
