About St Mary Baptist Church
St. Mary Baptist Church in Baton Rouge has served the East Baton Rouge Parish community since 1929, when a group of Christians established the congregation in a small cottage. The church has grown significantly over nearly a century, including the construction of a modern 700-seat sanctuary in 1984 and an educational wing dedicated in 1997. Under the leadership of Pastor Bishop Conway L. Knighton since 2000, the church continues its mission of spiritual growth and community service. The congregation celebrates its rich history and heritage while remaining actively engaged in fellowship events and community outreach throughout the year.
