First Baptist Church of Farmerville has served the community since its founding in 1847, evolving from meetings in the courthouse and schoolhouse to a modern facility on Main Street completed in 1950. The church is pastored by Bro. Kurt Auger, who returned to lead the congregation in 2008 after attending New Orleans Seminary. With a rich history of Baptist ministry spanning over 170 years, First Baptist Church offers a comprehensive program of worship, education, and community engagement. The church provides Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., morning worship at 11:00 a.m., and Bible study at 6:00 p.m., along with Wednesday activities including prayer meetings and programs for children and youth. Meals are available on Wednesday evenings for a modest cost, fostering fellowship and community connection. Today, First Baptist Church continues its mission as a lighthouse to the community, spreading the Gospel locally and globally.
