About St Matthew's Episcopal Church
St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, located in Houma, Louisiana, has served its community since its official chartering in 1855. The church welcomes all visitors seeking a place of grace, involvement, and a deeper relationship with Christ, offering Sunday Eucharist at 10 a.m. followed by Coffee and Conversation in the Parish Hall, as well as Wednesday services at 4 p.m. with Anointing of the Sick. The congregation provides childcare for infants through age three and Godly Play programming for children in Pre-K through 4th grade during Sunday services. St. Matthew's also operates an affiliated Episcopal school serving Pre-K through 7th grade. After a devastating fire in 2010, the church was restored through community support and God's grace, and it continues to fulfill its mission to glorify God, grow in faith, and make Christ known.
