About Carmelite Monastery
The Monastery of Mary, Mother of Grace is a Discalced Carmelite community in Lafayette, Louisiana, dedicated to a life of prayer, contemplation, and intercession for the Church and its people. Established in 1936 at the invitation of the first Bishop of Lafayette, this monastic community has served the Diocese for over 88 years, embodying the contemplative Carmelite tradition that has flourished since the 12th century.
