About Irish Channel Christian Fellowship
Irish Channel Christian Fellowship is a Baptist church in New Orleans’ Irish Channel neighborhood with contemporary worship and ministries for children and youth. Founded and incorporated in 1979, the church became a member of the Baptist Association of Greater New Orleans in 1994. Pastor Tilton accepted the call to serve as shepherd in May 1988 and continues in that role. From its beginning, the church has conducted afterschool tutoring and summer programs for youth, reflecting a long commitment to neighborhood care. Its sanctuary survived Hurricane Katrina and was rededicated on April 27, 2008. The church also hosted Irish Channel Neighborhood Association meetings for more than 15 years.
