About St James Baptist Church
St. James Baptist Church in Sterlington, Louisiana has served its community since 1869, when it was organized by Rev. P. Jenkins and named after its first pastor, Rev. Barlow James White. Under the current leadership of Pastor Richard Wilson III, installed in 2011, the church continues a legacy of spiritual growth and community engagement. The congregation is actively involved in numerous ministries including a Children's Literacy Program, annual Mother & Daughter Tea, Back to School Prayer Breakfast giveaway, and Youth Sunday services. St. James welcomes visitors to experience worship centered on the theme of "Casting Our Nets Winning Souls for Christ" and invites all to join their church family for Sunday services and weekly Bible study.
