Pilgrim Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bangor, Maine was formed in 1952 by Christians seeking a congregation reformed in both doctrine and worship. The church preaches Christ from all the Scriptures and grounds its teaching in the great affirmations of the Protestant Reformation: Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone, and all to the glory of God alone. With approximately 160 members, Pilgrim is deeply engaged in community ministry, having founded Penobscot Christian School and the First Step Pregnancy Resource Center, and more recently opening The Tan House for Men as a residential discipleship ministry. The congregation gathers for Sunday morning worship at 9:30 a.m. and evening worship at 6:00 p.m., and maintains an active prayer life through mid-week study meetings, small group ministries, and monthly prayer for the persecuted church worldwide.
