About Maine Sea Coast Mission

Maine Seacoast Mission has served coastal and island communities along the Maine coast for over 120 years with a deep commitment to meeting people where they are. Founded by two Congregational ministers, the organization strengthens communities by offering healthcare, education, food security, shelter, and spiritual support across six Maine counties. The Mission operates the Sunbeam, a floating community center that brings nurses, telehealth services, educational programming, and fellowship to unbridged islands miles off the coast, while its Downeast Campus in Cherryfield provides afterschool programs, youth development, housing rehabilitation, and food pantry services. Rooted in values of respect, compassion, trust, and hope, the Mission welcomes all people regardless of religious belief or church membership, fostering a sense of belonging and dignity throughout the communities it serves.
