About Church Of The New Jerusalem
Church Of The New Jerusalem in Bath is a Swedenborgian congregation founded on the Christian theology of Emanuel Swedenborg. Its present church building was built in 1843, dedicated on January 11, 1844, and has been in continuous use by Swedenborgians ever since. The building’s Greek temple-style facade has four Doric pillars. After the roof collapsed under an unusual snow load in 1920, the church was rebuilt with the walls moved inward, creating the present colonnades. Since 2020, sermons have been streamed and archived on video.
