About Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church
Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church is part of the Lighthouse United Methodist Churches of Midcoast Maine, a collaborative ministry that also includes Peoples UMC in South Portland and Thornton Heights UMC. The three congregations share pastoral leadership and administrative resources, worshiping together in spirit while maintaining their individual identities. Sunday worship at Cape Elizabeth begins at 10 a.m., led by the shared pastor when available or by lay leaders and guest speakers on alternate weeks. The church draws on the Methodist heritage rooted in John Wesley's emphasis on experiencing God's grace and putting faith into action through disciplined Christian living. With a welcoming sanctuary featuring a striking stained glass cross beneath a high-arched ceiling, the church invites visitors to join in worship and community life.
