About St Matthew's Episcopal Church
St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Lisbon Falls, Maine traces its roots to 1906 when thirteen families of English descent gathered for the first Episcopal service in the community. After seventy-five years as a mission church, St. Matthew's became an independent parish in 1980 and moved to its current location at 496 Lisbon Road in 1992. Today, under the leadership of Rev. David Matson, the church is grounded in Holy Scripture and focuses on joyful worship, fellowship, prayer, healing, study, outreach, and evangelism. The congregation welcomes visitors to experience God's love through reverent worship, supportive community, and spiritual renewal. St. Matthew's serves the local area through its participation in the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach and maintains connections as a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine and the worldwide Anglican Communion.
