About Saco Food Pantry Inc
The Saco Food Pantry, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has served the local community since opening in 1982 as part of the Biddeford-Saco Council of Churches Food Pantry. After the Council disbanded in 2002, the pantry incorporated as an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing food assistance to local residents in need. Operating through a dedicated volunteer staff and Board of Directors, the pantry serves approximately 250 families per month, distributing over 800 individual meals monthly including support for more than 250 children. The organization provides both short-term and long-term food assistance, offering 15-18 meals to each family member per month. Community support is essential to the pantry's mission, and volunteers are welcomed to join in strengthening the local community through direct service.
