About Transfiguration Hermitage
Transfiguration Hermitage is a Catholic monastic community in Windsor, Maine, founded in 1997 and home to Sisters Bernadette and Elizabeth who follow the Rule of St. Benedict. Situated on 64 acres of rolling hills, woods, meadows, and blueberry fields near Augusta, the hermitage is dedicated to a contemplative life of prayer for the needs of all people and welcomes visitors of all faiths seeking spiritual growth and respite. The community offers retreats, workshops, spiritual direction, and daily prayer in the chapel, while supporting themselves through baking, gardening, and making preserves. The hermitage serves as a God-centered place of peace and solitude where people can experience the healing presence of the Spirit amidst the natural beauty of Central Maine.
