About Embry AME Church
Embry African Methodist Episcopal Church, located on Lakeland Road in College Park, Maryland, has served its community since its founding in 1903. The church began in the home of Brother Samuel and Sister Georgiana Stewart and was officially established under the direction of Rev. A.C. Hunter, taking its name in honor of Bishop James C. Embry. Since relocating to its present location in 1918, Embry has become a spiritual anchor for the Lakeland community, with a mission to provide for neighborhood needs through teaching, preaching, and spreading God's word. The church emphasizes love, fellowship, and Christian service, welcoming all who seek a church home, prayer support, or a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Embry continues its evangelical work through live-streamed Sunday worship services and maintains an active prayer ministry for the community.
