About Pleasant Zion Baptist Church
Pleasant Zion Baptist Church, located in Dundalk, Maryland, is a Baptist congregation with deep historical roots dating back to 1899, when a small group began meeting for prayer in homes. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James B. Gray, Jr., who became pastor in 1971, the church has grown significantly and relocated to a new facility dedicated in 1986, with a fellowship hall added in 2002. The church's mission centers on saving souls through preaching, teaching, and witnessing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pleasant Zion maintains an active presence in its community through multiple ministries focused on exaltation, edification, evangelism, and education, as well as a Helping Hands Food Pantry that serves the neighborhood every Wednesday morning.
