About Frederick Friends Meeting
Frederick Friends Meeting is a Quaker community in Frederick, Maryland, welcoming people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and faith backgrounds. The meeting began informally in the late 1970s when Friends gathered in homes and eventually purchased their current meetinghouse in the early 1990s. As members of the Religious Society of Friends affiliated with Baltimore Yearly Meeting, they gather for worship on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings in both in-person and hybrid formats. The community emphasizes seeking God's spirit together and answering that of God in everyone, supported by committees focused on ministry, peace and social concerns, stewardship, and nurturing youth and children.
