About Sugarloaf Congregation
Sugarloaf Congregation of Unitarian Universalists in Germantown, Maryland is a welcoming spiritual community that celebrates theological and cultural diversity. Located on five beautiful acres bordering Seneca Creek State Park, the congregation meets in a charming yurt and frame house to explore meaningful questions about life, spirituality, and how to inspire good in the world. SCUU embraces people of all beliefs—including Christianity, Judaism, atheism, Buddhism, humanism, and earth-centered traditions—united by shared values expressed through the Seven Principles. The congregation offers hybrid services combining in-person and Zoom participation, religious exploration for children, small group connections, musical offerings, and opportunities for community service and fellowship. Whether you are searching for spiritual meaning, seeking a place to ask difficult questions, or looking to deepen your connection with others, SCUU invites you to bring your whole self to this inclusive community.
