About St. Mark's Episcopal Church
St. Mark's Episcopal Church has served as a spiritual home in Highland, Maryland for over 150 years, welcoming all who seek to grow in Christ, care for one another, and serve the wider world. The church offers two Sunday worship services with distinct styles: an 8:15 a.m. contemplative Holy Eucharist without music in the Parish House, and a 10:00 a.m. intergenerational service featuring traditional hymns, choir, organ, and contemporary praise music in Parsons Auditorium. The Eucharist is central to all Episcopal worship services, and children are warmly welcomed in both the main church and the dedicated Children's Chapel, which includes children's sermons. Beyond Sunday services, St. Mark's provides evening Compline services via Zoom and Wednesday morning offerings of Morning Prayer and Bible study. The congregation is actively engaged in ministry and recently launched a capital campaign for parish hall renovation.
