About Temple Emanuel
Temple Emanuel is the oldest Reform Jewish congregation in Montgomery County, Maryland, located in Kensington. The welcoming community embraces Jews by birth, Jews by choice, interfaith families, members of color, LGBTQ+ members, and members who are differently abled, all coming together to celebrate their Jewish faith. The congregation is rooted in the principles of God, Torah, and Israel, while fostering innovative approaches to worship, education, and social justice through Tikkun Olam. Temple Emanuel maintains a warm, inclusive atmosphere and actively works to build bridges within the broader Jewish and non-Jewish communities in the region.
