About All Saints Episcopal Church
All Saints Episcopal Church in Sunderland is a historic Episcopal parish with roots in 1692, when it was established as one of the 30 original Anglican parishes for the Province of Maryland. Its first parish church was built in 1693 on land known as Kemp’s Desire, donated by Thomas Hillary. The present brick church stands on a hilltop and replaced an earlier log church. The parish describes more than 325 years of continuous use, with a 5-acre churchyard that includes an extensive graveyard and a modern labyrinth.
