St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Westminster, Maryland is a progressive, welcoming congregation rooted in over 150 years of faithful service to its community. The church was founded in 1870 by a small group of 25 committed members who built a sanctuary to serve the growing population of downtown Westminster. Today, St. Paul's is known for its deep commitment to social justice, community care, and radical inclusion, having become Carroll County's first Open and Affirming congregation in 2008 and adopting the United Church of Christ's W.I.S.E. covenant to support those affected by mental illness and substance abuse. The congregation actively embodies its mission through numerous ministries including A Meal and More, a thirty-year-old food assistance program; Care4People, which serves the homeless; and CarrollBaby, which provides essential items to families in need.
