About Charlemont Federated Church

Charlemont Federated Church is a progressive, welcoming faith community located in Charlemont, Massachusetts, rooted in a unique federation of Baptist, Methodist, and Congregational traditions over 100 years old. As an Evangelical Covenant congregation affiliated with both the United Church of Christ and American Baptist Church (USA), the church embraces the conviction that all are welcome regardless of background or life circumstances. The community gathers for Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m., drawing from Scripture, prayer, music, and preaching to allow God's Word to unfold in ever-new ways. Beyond worship, the church actively serves the Western Franklin County region through its Good Neighbors Food Pantry, mission and outreach initiatives, pastoral care, and community programs including the Charlemont Forum and youth religious education. Members are encouraged to contribute their spiritual gifts and participate in various ministries, from worship and music to buildings and grounds stewardship, creating a faith community with what they describe as "theological elbow room."
