About First Congregational Church
First Congregational Church, located on the East Longmeadow rotary, is a welcoming fellowship of approximately 200 members founded in 1827. As an Open and Affirming congregation within the United Church of Christ, the church embraces all people regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, abilities, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The congregation offers spirited worship and educational opportunities for all ages, guided by a faith centered in Jesus Christ and expressed through caring community life. First Congregational is actively engaged in mission work including serving meals through Loaves & Fishes Teams in Springfield, supporting women's shelters, volunteering at local schools, and hosting community events like the Christmas Tree Lighting. With a rich history of adapting its ministries while holding firm to fundamental Christian faith, the church invites all who seek to explore faith and experience God's love in a diverse and compassionate community.
