About Massachusetts Buddhist Association
Massachusetts Buddhist Association in Lexington is a Chinese and English Buddhist community with roots in the Samantabhadra Buddhist Society, founded in Lowell in 1987. It was renamed the Buddhist Association of Massachusetts in 1989 and moved to Lexington in 1990, later purchasing the temple described as the first Chinese Buddhist temple in Massachusetts. After Dharma Drum Mountain took over management, the hall was renamed Dharma Drum Mountain Puxian Lecture Hall. A resident monastic teacher began serving here in 2016. Current activities include meditation, Buddha chanting, reading groups, and Buddhist discussion.
