About Goddard Chapel
Goddard Chapel, dedicated in 1883, serves as a vibrant center for spiritual and ethical life at the heart of the Tufts University campus. This striking example of late 19th-century Romanesque architecture features a hundred-foot bell tower, beautiful stained glass windows created through innovative acid-etching techniques, and carefully preserved interior woodwork in cherry, oak, and spruce. The chapel welcomes any and all into the hospitality and care of the university community. Today, Goddard Chapel continues its tradition as a place of spiritual, intellectual, and musical convergence, supporting religious, spiritual, ethical, and cultural life for all members of the Tufts community through the work of the University Chaplaincy.
