About Sisters Of Street Joseph
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Catholic religious congregation with deep historical roots tracing back to seventeenth-century France, where they were founded on the principle of uniting "neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God." The congregation arrived in Philadelphia in 1847 and has since grown to include approximately 500 sisters who live and work across twelve states. Guided by their charism of unioning love and inspired by the great love of God, the sisters have ministered in diverse settings including hospitals, schools, orphanages, and community services, responding with generosity to the urgent challenges and unmet needs of society. Today, the Sisters of Saint Joseph continue their mission of addressing the critical needs of the poor, the marginalized, and the vulnerable through prayer, education, and active service. Visitors and those seeking spiritual support are invited to connect with the community, whether through attending services, requesting prayers for their intentions, or learning more about their ongoing ministries and mission.
