About Sisters Of St Joseph
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Catholic congregation of more than 500 sisters with a rich history spanning from their origins in seventeenth-century France to their current ministries throughout America. Established in Philadelphia in 1847, the sisters have long been devoted to uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God, serving in hospitals, schools, orphanages, and community aid services. Guided by their foundational charism of incarnating unioning love, the sisters address urgent challenges facing the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable. Located in Clinton Township, Michigan, this community continues the tradition of spiritual and corporal works of mercy that have defined the congregation for centuries. Visitors are welcome to learn more about their mission and how they support those in need.
