What to Expect at Christ Church Detroit

Welcome to Christ Church Detroit! We're delighted you're considering visiting our historic and diverse congregation. Here's a quick guide to help you feel at home during your first visit:

Dress Code: At Christ Church, you'll find that people dress in a wide variety of styles, from casual to semi-formal attire. The atmosphere is relaxed, so please wear whatever makes you comfortable. Many attendees opt for business casual or Sunday best, but you'll see everything from jeans to suits.

Service Format: We have two Sunday services - an 8:15 am Spoken Eucharist and a 10:30 am Choral Eucharist. The 10:30 service is also livestreamed on our YouTube and Facebook channels.

The services follow the traditional Episcopal liturgy, with Scripture readings, prayers, and Holy Communion. The 10:30 service features our talented choir and organ music. Bulletins are provided to guide you through the service.

Tips for Visitors: - Feel free to sit anywhere - there's no assigned seating. Ushers can help you find a spot. - You're welcome to participate in the service as much or as little as you'd like. Just observe if you prefer. - During the Communion portion, all are welcome to receive the bread and wine or a blessing. Simply approach the altar rail. - Restrooms are located in the back of the church, near the main entrance. - Coffee hour follows the 10:30 service - this is a great time to mingle and meet new people.
