About Perfecting Church
Perfecting Church is a contemporary Detroit ministry whose mission is “Ministry Means People.” The church held its inaugural service on May 27, 1989, beginning with eight members in the basement of Pastor Marvin L. Winans’ home. It now describes itself as a multi-location ministry with international recognition. In addition to worship and fellowship, Perfecting Church is connected to community development work through the Perfecting Community Development Corporation, including the Marvin L. Winans Academy of Performing Arts and the Jenesta McCraw Youth Activity Center. The church is also building a future campus at 7 Mile and Woodward with a planned 4,300-seat sanctuary.
