About First Congregational Church
First Congregational Church has served the Durand, Michigan community since 1896, when thirteen charter members established this congregation in the heart of downtown at the corner of Saginaw and Washtenaw Streets. The church building, constructed in 1898, remains their home and is a recognizable landmark in the community. First Congregational Church welcomes visitors and new members who wish to follow Jesus Christ and grow together in faith. The congregation emphasizes biblical teaching, prayer, and worship while maintaining strong ties to the local Durand community, where most members live and work as neighbors and friends. They are committed to expressing Christ's spirit through individual and corporate worship, service, and community engagement.
