Bethlehem Lutheran Church is a historic ELCA congregation located in the heart of Grand Rapids' Heartside neighborhood, tracing its roots back 152 years as the city's first Swedish church. Centered on the corner of Commerce and Bartlet Avenues, the church welcomes people of every race, culture, ability, sexual orientation, and gender identity, believing that God's grace is meant for all. The community is deeply committed to racial equity and inclusive belonging, actively engaging in ecumenical work with other downtown churches while serving as agents of reconciliation both locally and throughout the wider world.
