About St John Catholic Church
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is a historic parish in Jackson, Michigan, home to the oldest church building in the Diocese of Lansing, serving the community since 1856. The parish invites all to encounter Jesus Christ through the Sacraments, faith formation, discipleship, fellowship, and service. With a mission to form missionary disciples and bring people to Jesus, St. John welcomes visitors and families of all backgrounds. The church offers multiple Mass times throughout the week and weekend, Eucharistic Adoration, confession opportunities, and various faith formation programs. Service Format: Weekend Masses are offered on Saturday at 4:15 PM and Sunday at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, Noon, and 5:00 PM, with weekday Masses on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; Confession is available Saturday 3:00–3:45 PM and Thursday after 9:00 AM Mass. Visitor Tips: Parents with young children are encouraged to sit toward the front where little ones can better see and engage with the liturgy, and stepping out of the sanctuary with children is welcomed with the invitation to return, following Jesus's words to 'let the children come to me.'
