About Zen Meditation Center of Michigan

Zen Meditation Center of Michigan, officially known as Mumunsa Zen Center, is located in Rochester Hills north of Detroit and serves as the sole place to practice Korean Buddhism of the Jogye Order in the region, which encompasses Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Windsor, Canada. The center is open to the public for weekly Dharma meetings, Zen meditation sessions, and prayer observances throughout the year. As a Korean Buddhist organization, the center provides a welcoming space for both those new to Buddhist practice and experienced practitioners seeking to deepen their meditation and spiritual understanding. The center marks significant occasions through special prayer observances including celebrations for the New Year, Buddha's Birthday, and the Harvest Moon Festival, as well as prayers for children and ancestors. Whether visitors are interested in exploring Korean Buddhism or seeking a local community for regular practice, the center invites inquiry and participation in its public programs and events.
