About Diocese Of Eastern Michigan
The Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Michigan, now part of the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes as of October 2024, is a community of Christians practicing ancient Anglican faith in the post-industrial Saginaw region. The diocese comprises 43 congregations dedicated to bringing the love of Christ alive through worship, service, and compassion, both in the mainstream and at the margins of their communities. The Episcopal Church welcomes all who worship Jesus Christ and offers a meaningful spiritual home that respects tradition while maintaining openness to questions and exploration. Known for engaging and beautiful liturgical worship services, the diocese grounds all worship in the Book of Common Prayer tradition. The four core practices of prayer, learning, service, and growth guide the diocese's mission to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. Visitors, particularly those with Roman Catholic backgrounds, will find the Eucharist service familiar, while those from reformed or no religious tradition may discover a spiritual home that honors both tradition and reason.
