About Mary Queen Of Apostles Parish
Mary Queen of Apostles Parish is a Catholic parish in Sand Lake with roots in the area’s early Catholic settlers of the 1860s. Originally known as St. Mary Parish, the community was served by Father Sebastian VanGessel beginning in 1923, and the first Mass in the new church was celebrated on August 6, 1933. The parish was later renamed Mary Queen of Apostles during the pastorate of Father Edward A. Hankiewicz. Parishioners live out their faith through service, outreach, and fellowship.
