About First Lutheran Church
First Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay, Michigan, has served its community for 150 years, rooted in Norwegian Lutheran heritage since its founding in 1874. Under the pastoral leadership of Colin Anderson, the congregation offers Divine Service with Holy Communion every Sunday at 10:00 a.m., followed by Bible Class and Sunday School. The church building itself, constructed in 1886 from logs donated by members, stands as a testament to the congregation's deep community ties. As part of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, First Lutheran emphasizes Word and Sacrament as central to strengthening faith and nourishing souls. The congregation welcomes visitors and provides instruction classes for those interested in learning more about Lutheran teaching and potentially joining the community.
