About Lutheran Church
First Lutheran Church in Babbitt, Minnesota is a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod rooted in deep doctrinal tradition and biblical fidelity. Founded in 1890 by Finnish immigrants who gathered to establish a community of faith, the church has maintained its commitment to the public reading of God's Word and the faithful administration of the Sacraments. The current sanctuary, completed in 1968 at 915 East Camp Street, was built through remarkable congregational effort and dedication. As a confessional and liturgical congregation, First Lutheran holds to the historic creeds and the Book of Concord as true expositions of Scripture, and welcomes visitors to experience weekly Divine Service and engage with Bible studies and church activities that center on receiving God's gracious gifts of salvation, eternal life, and forgiveness of sins.
