About Saint James Parish
Saint James Parish is the oldest incorporated parish in the Catholic Diocese of St. Cloud west of the Mississippi River, founded in 1856. Located in the rural Jacobs Prairie community about twenty miles west of St. Cloud, Minnesota, the church has maintained its intimate character over more than 150 years as a close-knit faith community. The parish comprises approximately seventy-five families and thirty-five singles, widows, and widowers who gather in a small church building that seats about 180 people, including the choir loft. Saint James takes pride in preserving both its historic structure and the rural community atmosphere that has defined parish life for generations. Visitors are welcome to join this long-established Catholic community for worship and fellowship.
