About Charis Ecumenical Catholic Community
Charis Ecumenical Catholic Community is an inclusive Catholic parish serving the Eden Prairie area through contemporary worship that bridges traditional Catholic sacramental practice with modern, accessible language. As the first Minnesota community of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, Charis welcomes people from across the spectrum of belief and belonging, including divorced persons, LGBTQIA2s+ individuals, and those in interfaith relationships. The community gathers for interactive Mass on Sunday mornings both in person at their Blossom Road location and via Zoom, offering a justice-driven spiritual home rooted in apostolic Catholic tradition while embracing Vatican II's vision of lay leadership and the primacy of conscience. Led by Reverends Trish Vanni and Brian Ashmankas, Charis practices a discipleship of equals, extending full sacramental participation to all regardless of gender identity, orientation, or marital status, and actively serves the poor, outcast, and marginalized in their community.
