About Lutheran Island Camp
Lutheran Island Camp & Retreat Center is a year-round ministry located on 67 secluded acres on Bald Island in East Battle Lake, near Henning, Minnesota. Founded in 1949 by local pastor R.L. Bode with a vision to serve the church, the camp began offering summer youth programs in 1952 and has since expanded to serve hundreds of people annually through diverse programs and retreats. The camp's mission is to nourish the whole person for joyful, Christ-centered life and service, with a commitment to connecting people to God's Word, creation, and one another in an atmosphere of love, forgiveness, and celebration. The facility offers a range of accommodations including dormitory-style rooms, semi-rustic cabins across two villages, and a retreat house, making it suitable for youth camps, family retreats, and group gatherings throughout the year.
